What to do at level 60 in New World
Congratulations on reaching level 60 in New World! Now that you've achieved the maximum level, it's time to dive into the exciting endgame content that awaits you. From crafting to expeditions, there's plenty to keep you engaged. Here's a guide to help you make the most of your time at level 60.
Expertise And Gear Score
At level 60, your primary goal is to increase your gear score from 500 to 600 and eventually aim for 625 gear sets. It's important to understand the connection between expertise and gear score. Expertise is tied to your character and becomes permanent as you gain experience for a specific equipment slot. On the other hand, gear score is tied to individual gear items and is averaged across all your equipped gear.
To maximize your power, it's crucial to balance expertise and equipment score. Equipping high-scoring gear without sufficient expertise will limit the potential power you can obtain from that item. Therefore, pay attention to both expertise and gear score to optimize your character's performance.
Brimstone Sands Quest
Once you reach level 60, it's time to focus on the Brimstone Sands storyline quests. To unlock these quests, you must be at level 60 and complete a series of prerequisite quests. Start by completing the Strider of the Sands quest chain and apply Desert Cerate, a special "sunscreen," to protect yourself from the intense desert sun of Brimstone Sands. Speak to Soulwarden Tomash Kovalenko to initiate the quest chain.
Completing these quests will grant you access to new resources, including ingredients for crafting Tier 5 foods, the ability to craft Runeglass Gems, a new travel system with Ancient Glyphs for faster navigation between Points of Interest (POIs), and the opportunity to hunt for Elite Chests using Glyphs.
The rewards for completing the Brimstone Sands quests are significant, but be prepared for challenging tasks. You might need the help of MMOexp New World gold.
Gypsum
If you prefer to play solo, the Gypsum system is an excellent way to increase your expertise. By investing just an hour of your time each day, you can earn 7 Gypsum:
Obsidian Gypsum (3 per day): Drops from level 60+ named creatures.
Sapphire Gypsum (2 per day): Obtained by defeating the final bosses of The Lazarus Instrumentality and Garden of Genesis expeditions.
Ruby Gypsum (2 per day): Earned by completing Outpost Rush matches.
Emerald Gypsum (1 per day): Reward for leveling up your aptitude.
Citrine Gypsum (1 per day): Obtained by completing arenas.
Amethyst Gypsum (7 per day): Reward for completing major or minor breaches.
Topaz Gypsum (10 per day): Drops from level 55+ creatures while under the effect of a daily craftable potion called Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion.
Garnet Gypsum (2 per day): Obtained by participating in 3v3 Arena matches. 100% chance if you win, 50% if you don't.
Diamond Gypsum (3 per day): Rewarded from special event activities, such as the Winter event.
To convert the gypsum orbs into gypsum casts, use a kiln. Each orb corresponds to a specific expertise slot. You can accumulate gypsum throughout the day to create multiple orbs, except for Sapphire Gypsum, which has a daily limit of 1 but can be stockpiled for future use.
By using gypsum casts, you can increase the expertise level of a gear slot. It will take approximately 31 orbs to level up a slot from a 500 gear score to the maximum. Once all slots reach the maximum, the orbs will be used to generate items within the range of 591-600 gear score.
Remember, you can only increase the expertise level of each slot once per day. As you approach the maximum expertise in all slots, you'll need to generate fewer gypsum orbs daily.
By following this guide, you'll be well-equipped to tackle the endgame content of New World at level 60. Whether you focus on increasing your gear score or utilize the Gypsum system to enhance your expertise, there's no shortage of activities to keep you engaged. Enjoy the journey and make the most of your adventures in New World!
